Forklift Stand-Up Reach Operator

This role involves picking and packing food products in a cold storage facility while operating stand-up reach and sit-down forklifts. You work on your feet for the entirety of the shift, use RF scanner guns to accurately track inventory, and perform heavy lifting in an extremely cold environment. Flexibility across different shifts is essential as new lines of business are being introduced.

Responsibilities

  • Pick and pack food products accurately and efficiently in a cold storage environment.
  • Operate stand-up reach and sit-down forklifts safely to move, load, and unload product.
  • Use RF scanner guns to track inventory, confirm orders, and maintain accurate records.
  • Perform heavy lifting and manual handling throughout the shift while maintaining safety standards.
  • Work on your feet for the entirety of the shift in extremely cold temperatures.
  • Load and unload pallets, materials, and products as directed.
  • Support inventory control activities, including counting, organizing, and staging product.
  • Follow all facility safety procedures, equipment operating guidelines, and quality standards.
  • Adapt to changing workflows and processes as new lines of business and tasks are introduced.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area within the cold storage room.

Essential Skills

  • Current certification to operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts, including reach trucks.
  • Proven experience operating sit-down and stand-up forklifts in a warehouse or similar environment.
  • Experience using RF scanner guns for picking, packing, and inventory management.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual material handling throughout the shift.
  • Ability to work on your feet for the entirety of the shift.
  • Comfort working in extremely cold temperatures in a cold storage facility.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate picking, packing, and inventory tracking.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including first shift (Sunday–Thursday, 6:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.) and night shift (Sunday–Thursday, 8:00 p.m.–4:00 a.m.).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in food product packaging and picking in a warehouse or distribution setting.
  • Inventory control, loading, and material handling operations.
  • Familiarity with reach truck operation in a high-volume warehouse environment.
  • Ability to adapt to new lines of business, processes, and operational changes.
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

You work in a cold storage room with extremely low temperatures, handling food products in a warehouse setting. The role requires being on your feet for the entire shift and performing heavy lifting. Shifts run Sunday–Thursday, with a first shift from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and a night shift from 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.; flexibility across these hours is required as new lines of business are introduced.

You regularly operate sit-down and stand-up reach forklifts, use RF scanner guns, and work around pallets, racking, and other standard warehouse equipment, following all safety and cold-storage guidelines.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Denton, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
