Our client, a fast-growing, privately held manufacturing organization is hiring a Senior Accountant to join its finance team during a period of continued growth and operational complexity. This role will have meaningful ownership over payroll accounting, month-end close activities, and technical accounting areas while partnering closely with operations, HR, and project teams.
This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who enjoys structure, accuracy, and improving accounting processes in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities- Support fixed asset and construction-in-progress accounting, including asset capitalization
- Maintain lease accounting under ASC 842, including amortization schedules and monthly entries
- Record interest activity tied to amortization schedules for receivables and payables
- Assist with intercompany accounting, reconciliations, and invoicing
- Provide support for other complex accounting matters as needed
- Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules
- Assist with documentation of accounting policies and internal controls
- Participate in internal and external audits and prepare audit support
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, HR, engineering, and project teams
- Cross-train to provide backup coverage across the accounting function
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within finance and accounting
- Manage payroll-related accounting from end to end, including reconciliations and accruals
- Review and validate timecard data within the ERP system
- Allocate labor costs across departments, projects, and cost centers
- Prepare journal entries for payroll, bonuses, commissions, and contractor expenses
- Produce reporting on labor spend, utilization, and headcount trends for leadership
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, ideally in manufacturing and/or project-based environments
- ERP system experience required; exposure to multiple systems is a plus
- Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets
- Big 4 or public accounting background is a plus
