Position OverviewThe Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the company s financial data. This position will manage the Accounts Receivables, oversee General Ledger accounts, and ensure accurate and timely tax filing. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail, with the ability to reconcile all balance sheet and income statement accounts.
Additionally, the Senior Staff Accountant will handle tax and regulatory filings to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Manage and reconcile Accounts Receivables.
- Create new customer accounts and maintain existing accounts, requesting Credit Apps and Exemption certificates and performing credit checks.
- Maintain AR aging report by sending timely and consistent collection payment requests and past-due notices on customer accounts.
- Put accounts on credit hold as needed and adequately communicate any credit holds with the sales and aftersales departments.
- Customer Assistance - Responding to customer inquiries, issues, and complaints through various channels such as phone, email, text, or in-person interaction
- Fixed asset and depreciation schedule maintenance
- Assist with other month-end close processes
- Assist with internal or external monthly/quarterly reporting needs
- Responsible for tax and regulatory filings
- Maintain Business Licenses and Secretary of State compliance
- Assist with Financial and Bank audits
- Coordinate more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting team or with other departments.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field
- 3–5 years of experience in accounting roles, preferably in a small to mid-sized company
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and month-end close processes
- Experience with general ledger reconciliations, fixed assets, and depreciation schedules
- Hands-on experience managing accounts receivable, including customer setup, credit checks, and collections
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate professionally across multiple channels
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams); experience with Acumatica or similar ERP systems is a plus
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
