Senior Accountant

A top-ranked, privately held organization in the Denver area is seeking a Senior Accountant to play a key role in supporting its corporate accounting and financial reporting functions. This position will have meaningful ownership over the month-end close and financial statement preparation, including cash flow statements, footnotes, and technical accounting research, while partnering closely with Finance leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure accurate, compliant, and scalable reporting.

• Own the month-end close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Prepare cash flow statements, footnotes, and related financial disclosures
• Research accounting guidance, prepare technical memos, and communicate recommendations to leadership
• Analyze financial results across cost centers and provide insights to support decision-making
• Prepare clear and concise variance explanations for internal and external reporting
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure data integrity across reporting
• Coordinate financial data across departments to support efficient and transparent reporting
• Support system enhancements and process improvements within large ERP and close management tools
• Assist with audit requests by preparing schedules and supporting documentation
• Participate in special projects that support accounting consistency and business growth

• Approximately 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements
• Demonstrated experience preparing cash flow statements
• Experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation
• Public accounting experience (Senior level) or experience in large, complex organizations preferred
• Proficiency with large ERP systems and Excel
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently
• Clear communication skills and comfort partnering cross-functionally and with leadership
