THE POSITION:
The Director, Technical Accounting is an essential part of the financial reporting department. You will play a crucial role in providing insight into our financial reporting as it relates to technical accounting analysis and documentation, ultimately ensuring the accuracy of our financial reporting and disclosures. To be successful in this role, you will need to have recent experience in interpreting, documenting, and applying revenue, leasing, business combination, foreign exchange and other accounting standards to transactions, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and exceptional analytical and organizational skills.

Our ideal candidate will have a passion for technical accounting, financial reporting, and solving complex accounting and reporting needs.
- Subject matter expert for complex technical accounting issues, including business combinations, leases, revenue recognition, capitalization, financing, hedging, and foreign currency.
- Provide audit support for multiple entities in a complex legal and reporting structure, serving as the primary point of contact for technical accounting and disclosure documentation.
- Work with the Director of Financial Reporting on internal and external reporting requirements, including identifying and developing financial statement disclosures and other reporting as requested.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
- Participate in the development and enhancement of financial systems, processes, and controls to streamline reporting and increase efficiency.
- Assess and analyze the financial impact of potential transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and standards.
- Implement new accounting standards including technical accounting research, drafting technical accounting memos, and preparing disclosures.
- Work closely with accounting, financial reporting and senior management as it relates to M&A activity, including buy and sell side diligence, as applicable.
- Facilitate training on relevant accounting topics to STACK personnel, as needed.
- Provide technical accounting support to the month‑end close processes, as needed.
- Assist in special projects involving internal controls and other initiatives as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required. 8+ years prior work experience.
- CPA and public accounting experience required.
- Technical accounting and financial reporting experience in industry preferred. In‑depth knowledge of US GAAP.
- Real estate/data center industry experience is a plus.
- Experience with complex legal and reporting structures.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office product suite, especially Excel. Detail‑oriented.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communications skills.
- Enjoys collaborating and works well cross‑functionally with other teams.
- Ability to execute, process, and prioritize tasks with minimal‑to‑no supervision. Proven success in creating efficiencies in processes and procedures.

Denver, CO – In office 3 days per week Travel: less than 10% - Compensation: $165,000 to $175,000 + 20% annual bonus potential
