Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and location. Expected starting base salary $65,000 to $80,000 per year.
Responsibilities:
Perform day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance.
- Project Costing:
Collaborate with project managers to track and analyze project costs, expenses, and budget variances to ensure projects are completed within budgetary guidelines. - Payroll Processing:
Process and reconcile employee timesheets, ensure accurate labor cost allocation to construction projects, and collaborate with HR to address payroll-related inquiries. - Financial Reporting:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management review, highlighting key financial metrics and performance indicators. - Bank Reconciliations:
Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure accurate cash flow management and identify any discrepancies promptly. - Tax Compliance:
Assist in the preparation of tax filings, including sales tax, use tax, and property tax, while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. - Vendor Management:
Manage vendor relationships, process payments, and resolve any billing discrepancies or issues. - Cost Analysis:
Conduct financial analysis to identify areas for cost optimization, cost-saving opportunities, and process improvements within the construction projects. - Audit Support:
Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation, explanations, and resolving audit inquiries. - Compliance:
Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and relevant accounting standards in the construction industry.
Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in construction accounting or related field.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and construction accounting practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, SAP, Oracle) and MS Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
