Staff Accountant
Summary:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for managing the day‑to‑day operations of the company’s general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions. This includes ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and collections, month‑end GAAP accruals, and maintaining detailed financial records while collaborating with internal teams and external vendors/customers. This role is essential to the integrity of our financial operations and consistent application of GAAP accounting.
Responsibilities
- Post daily transactional entries, including AR, AP, Prepaids, Deferred Revenue, Fixed Assets, Leases, and month‑end accruals.
- Process incoming invoices and employee expense reimbursements accurately and on time.
- Generate and send invoices to clients and follow up on outstanding receivables.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all General Ledger transactions.
- Prepare reports related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and aging schedules.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
- Respond to vendor and customer inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing processes, including general ledger reconciliations.
- Support audits by providing documentation and responding to auditor requests.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Controller and accounting team on cash flow forecasting and budgeting.
- Support adoption of new tools and automation in accounting tasks.
- 3+ years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general accounting.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Business Central, Net Suite, Quick Books, or similar).
- Strong understanding of GAAP and basic financial principles.
- Experience reconciling accounts and managing collections.
- Familiarity with invoice matching, purchase orders, and payment processing.
- Strong Excel skills and ability to analyze financial data.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Comfortable working independently and in a team setting.
- Discretion when handling sensitive financial information.
Expected salary range of $60,000 to $75,000, dependent on experience.
