Senior Accountant

Macdonald & Company are proudly partnered with a vertically integrated multifamily platform to appoint a Senior Accountant for their Denver, Colorado office.

The firm develops, constructs, and delivers multifamily communities through an integrated platform. As the business continues to grow and refine its accounting infrastructure, they are seeking a Senior Accountant to play a key role across multiple entities and business lines.

This is a broad, full-cycle accounting position offering exposure across corporate accounting, construction accounting, consolidations, financial reporting, and process improvement initiatives. The firm is seeking someone who has touched the entire accounting process and enjoys operating in a hands‑on environment where they can contribute across a variety of accounting functions.

The role supports a multi‑entity organization and will work closely with accounting leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting, improve processes, and support the continued evolution of the company's accounting platform.

This opportunity would suit an accountant who enjoys owning work from start to finish rather than operating within a narrowly defined accounting function.

• Perform full-cycle accounting activities across multiple corporate, development, and construction entities
• Support month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial statement preparation
• Assist with consolidations and intercompany accounting across multiple business units
• Support construction accounting activities, including job costing, owner billings, retainage tracking, and WIP reporting
• Review project financial performance and ensure accurate allocation and reporting of construction costs
• Partner with development, construction, and operational teams to ensure timely and accurate financial information
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting workflows
• Support ERP and accounting system initiatives, helping maximize the effectiveness of the firm's accounting technology platform
• Work closely with accounting leadership on special projects and process improvement initiatives
