Role DescriptionThe Accounting and Advisory Services - Senior Accountant is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Denver, CO. This position is responsible for preparing and reviewing financial statements, performing complex journal entries, and maintaining general ledger accuracy for a variety of clients in a variety of industries. The Senior Accountant will use accounting software to manage client accounts, reconcile balances, and support month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
The role includes providing advisory support such as analyzing financial data, identifying trends, and offering recommendations to improve clients’ financial performance and controls. Day‑to‑day responsibilities also involve collaborating with team members, responding to client inquiries, assisting with tax and compliance‑related documentation, and contributing to process improvements and best practices.
- Bookkeeping and financial statement preparation (70%)
- Coordinating Tax Planning Action Steps with DJJCPA Tax Team (5%)
- M&A (including company creation and dissolution) (5%-10%)
- Fractional CFO Services (3%-7%)
- Payroll (3%-4%)
- Payroll Tax (1%-2%)
- Valuation Services (2%-6%)
- Other Advisory Services (2%-6%)
- Strong technical accounting skills, including experience with Financial Statements and Journal Entries (Accounting).
- Proficiency with Accounting Software and comfort adopting new financial systems and tools. (Xero and Quickbooks are two main softwares)
- Bachelor’s degree (Preferred Masters) in Accounting; CPA license or progress toward certification preferred.
- Previous experience in public accounting or a similar client‑facing accounting role, ideally at a senior or advanced staff level.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines.
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills, with a commitment to collaborative, respectful teamwork.
- Ability to work on‑site in Denver, CO, (Hybrid offered) maintaining confidentiality and high ethical standards in all client work.
