Position Overview: We are seeking a Tax Staff Accountant who will work closely with clients to understand their businesses and support tax compliance, projections, and issue resolution. This role offers hands-on experience, continuous learning, and opportunities to build strong client relationships while developing technical tax expertise.
Essential Functions- Demonstrate a commitment to high-quality client service and personal attention.
- Assist with routine federal and state agency inquiries.
- Maintain frequent client contact to provide updates and answer general questions.
- Request necessary information from clients and supervisors to prepare tax filings.
- Identify potential tax issues and discuss them with team members.
- Prepare tax projections and related analysis.
- Prepare tax returns for review and address all review notes thoroughly.
- Review tax law developments to determine applicability to clients.
- Draft federal, state, and local correspondence to tax authorities.
- Participate in internal training as needed.
- Actively prepare for CPA exam completion.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Completion of 150 credit hours for CPA licensure is highly desirable.
- Understanding of basic accounting procedures and GAAP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to multitask.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
