Senior Property Accountant Summary
The Senior Property Accountant will oversee the accounting and financial reporting for a diverse portfolio of commercial real estate assets. This role partners closely with Property Managers and Asset Managers to ensure accurate reporting while delivering financial insights that support ownership and investment decisions.
Senior Property Accountant Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting for an assigned commercial property portfolio
- Complete monthly financial close
- Prepare property financial statements
- Perform journal entries and account reconciliations
- Analyze operating expenses and budget variances
- The Senior Property Accountant will prepare CAM reconciliations and tenant billings
- Review lease abstracts and lease accounting
- Coordinate annual budgets and forecasts
- Prepare audit schedules
- Assist with acquisitions, dispositions, and refinancing
- Partner with Property Managers and Asset Managers
- Maintain fixed assets and depreciation schedules
Senior Property Accountant Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting preferred—NOT required
- 4–7 years of commercial real estate accounting experience
- Strong understanding of CAM reconciliations
- Commercial lease accounting experience
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical and communication abilities
