Job Description & How to Apply Below

A well-established commercial GC in the Denver Metro area is seeking a Payroll Specialist to become a key member of their Accounting and Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional who enjoys owning the process, partnering with internal teams, and ensuring payroll and compliance activities run smoothly across both employees and subcontractors.

This role goes beyond traditional payroll processing and offers the opportunity to play an important part in supporting public and prevailing wage construction projects while serving as a trusted resource across the organization.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Process weekly payroll for company employees and support payroll activities related to subcontractors and public projects.
  • Prepare, review, and submit certified payroll reports while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and municipal requirements.
  • Coordinate closely with HR regarding employee onboarding, wage adjustments, deductions, benefits, and payroll changes.
  • Review subcontractor payroll documentation and assist in resolving reporting discrepancies and compliance issues.
  • Maintain payroll records, support reconciliations, and assist with quarterly, year-end, and audit-related activities.
  • Serve as a resource to employees, project teams, and subcontractors by answering payroll and compliance-related questions.
What We're Looking For
  • Experience processing payroll within the construction industry.
  • Knowledge of Davis-Bacon, Colorado prevailing wage requirements, and certified payroll reporting.
  • Experience with certified payroll submissions and subcontractor compliance documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience with Sage, LCP Tracker, or similar payroll and compliance systems is highly preferred.
Why Consider This Opportunity?

This is an opportunity to join a stable, well-respected commercial contractor with a strong reputation in the Colorado market. You'll work alongside a collaborative team, have visibility across multiple projects, and play an integral role in ensuring payroll accuracy and project compliance. If you enjoy a position that combines payroll operations, problem-solving, and construction compliance, we'd love to connect.
