We are currently looking to add a Senior Tax Accountant to our Denver HQ team.
This is an on-site position in our downtown Denver headquarters and reports to our Corporate Controller.
The Senior Tax Accountant plays a critical role in the company’s tax compliance, provision, and planning activities within a private-equity-backed, high-growth environment. This role is responsible for preparing and reviewing federal, state, and local tax filings, supporting the income tax provision, and maintaining accurate tax records across multiple entities. The position works closely with the Controller, FP&A, external tax advisors, and operating teams to ensure timely and accurate tax compliance, strong internal controls, and effective tax planning throughout the year.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and review federal, state, and local income tax returns and supporting work papers
- Assist with the quarterly and annual income tax provision (ASC 740), including deferred tax calculations
- Prepare and file sales and use tax, property tax, and other indirect tax filings across multiple jurisdictions
- Reconcile tax accounts and maintain supporting schedules for income and indirect taxes
- Research and document tax positions and monitor changes in federal and state tax law
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors on filings, provisions, and tax examinations
- Support tax planning, estimated payments, and entity-level compliance across a multi-entity structure
- Controls, Process, and PE Reporting
- Support the design and maintenance of tax-related internal controls in a private-equity-backed environment
- Identify and implement process improvements to scale tax compliance and reporting during periods of growth
- Participate in ERP and tax technology implementations and ongoing process improvements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation
- 3–6 years of progressive tax accounting experience
- Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ASC 740 income tax accounting
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments
- CPA, CPA-eligible, or Master’s in Taxation (MST)
- Public accounting or corporate tax department experience
- Experience with tax compliance and provision software (e.g., Corptax, ONESOURCE, or
- Experience in a private-equity-backed or multi-entity environment
- One Stream Experience
- ERP experience (Sage Intacct, Viewpoint Vista)
- Broad exposure to corporate tax across compliance, provision, and planning in a high-growth company
- High visibility with senior leadership and various divisions
