Staff Accountant

Responsibilities

• The Staff Accountant plays a critical role within the Accounting and Finance organization by supporting month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, capital project accounting, intercompany accounting, and financial process improvement initiatives across multiple Vero Fiber operating entities
• This role will work heavily within Net Suite and support a complex multi-entity accounting environment involving construction accounting, fiber network capitalization, telecom-specific accounting processes, project accounting, and operational reporting
• Prepare and post journal entries including accruals, prepaid expenses, amortization, and reclasses
• Perform monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist with month-end close across multiple legal entities
• Support financial reporting package preparation
• Investigate variances and unusual fluctuations
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation
• Support CIP accounting and capitalization processes
• Assist with project closeout accounting and asset transfers
• Track capital expenditures and capitalization policy compliance
• Support capitalized labor accounting analysis
• Prepare and reconcile intercompany transactions
• Support intercompany eliminations and consolidations
• Assist with entity-level financial reporting
• Support accounting standardization across entities
• Improve accounting workflows within Net Suite
• Support automation initiatives reducing manual work
• Maintain process documentation and procedures
• Identify efficiency opportunities and process improvements
• Prepare audit schedules and support external audits
• Maintain supporting documentation for key balances
• Assist with internal control execution
• Support tax filings and compliance requirements
• Support cash forecasting and working capital analysis
• Track capital expenditure budgets
• Support budget vs actual variance analysis

• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Advanced Excel skills
• Strong understanding of GAAP
• 2-4 years of accounting experience
• ERP experience (Net Suite preferred but not required)
• Telecommunications industry experience
• Multi-entity accounting environment

• Ability to perform fine motor tasks, such as typing or using a mouse, for extended periods of time
