Senior Property Accountant
Salary: $80K-$100K base
We are seeking a Senior Property Accountant to join a growing real estate investment platform managing a diverse portfolio of commercial and industrial assets. – Key Responsibilities
- Lead month-end close activities for assigned properties and legal entities
- Prepare and review financial statements, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Perform detailed balance sheet and P&L flux analysis, researching and explaining period-over-period variances
- Prepare reporting packages and support financial reporting in an environment with REIT-style and public company reporting expectations
- Assist with SOX controls, internal control documentation, and audit readiness initiatives
- Support external audit requests and prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation
- Partner with leadership to strengthen accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting procedures
- Assist with multi-entity reporting, consolidations, and portfolio-level financial analysis
- Collaborate cross-functionally to improve reporting accuracy and operational efficiency
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- 4+ years of progressive property accounting, real estate accounting, or corporate accounting experience
- Experience in a REIT, institutional real estate, public company, or similarly controlled reporting environment strongly preferred
- Experience with financial reporting, SOX/internal controls, account reconciliations, and audit support
- Strong experience performing financial statement variance (flux) analysis
- Solid understanding of GAAP and month-end close processes
- Advanced Excel skills required
- Experience with Yardi preferred
