Position Overview

This role provides business‑office services for the Division of Adult Parole/Community Corrections, monitoring and reporting financial transactions. The employee maintains internal controls for accurate, reliable accounting data and initiates improvements in accounting and tracking systems in collaboration with the Business Manager.

Job Duties
  • Match documentation (requisitions, receiving reports, vendor invoices) and apply State Fiscal Rules; forward completed packages to Accounts Payable.
  • Research unpaid invoices sent from Accounts Payable.
  • Correspond with internal and external stakeholders regarding invoice discrepancies.
  • Establish procedures for compiling and batching fiscal documents.
  • Verify approvals, coding, and vendor IDs to ensure totals match control totals.
  • Analyze data to determine solutions that preserve fiscal integrity.
  • Reconcile monthly vehicle mileage and cell‑phone charges.
  • Assist with receiving C‑Card logs and reallocating procurement card charges.
  • Track indigent housing expenditures and request purchase orders as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Three (3) years of technical accounting experience.
  • Or a combination of college coursework in finance, accounting or related fields and/or equivalent experience equal to three (3) years.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with the State of Colorado Operations Resource Engine (CORE).
  • Proficient 10‑key usage.
  • Knowledge of debits and credits.
  • Microsoft Excel and Google Suite proficiency.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a related field.
