The Office of the State Auditor seeks a Legislative Financial Audit Intern to work on financial auditing projects within the agency's nonpartisan Legislative Branch office. The role involves analyzing state government financial performance, evaluating agency activities against regulations and accounting standards, and identifying audit findings under the guidance of experienced auditors. This is a paid 9‑month temporary position (30‑40 hours per week) designed to provide training, skill development, and exposure to full‑time auditor work.
KeyQualifications
- Seeking or completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or related field (senior undergraduate level if pursuing Bachelor’s)
- Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills
- Effective communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and technology skills
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to establish effective working relationships
