Controller
Location: Greater Denver Area (Hybrid)
Compensation: $160k-$175k + Bonus Potential

We're partnering with a growing, construction, project-based organization to identify a Controller who will serve as a strategic business partner to the CFO. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys leading month end close processes with a high-performing team, and driving operational excellence in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities of Controller:
- Lead all accounting and finance operations, including AP, AR, payroll, job costing, percentage of completion (WIP), fixed assets, inventory, sales tax, and account reconciliations.
- Manage, mentor, and develop the accounting team.
- Oversee the monthly close process and prepare accurate, timely financial statements.
- Analyze financial results and identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Partner with the CFO on annual budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
- Drive accounting process improvements, automation initiatives, and system enhancements.
- Support operational leaders with financial analysis to improve profitability and business performance.
- Assist with the annual audit and other compliance requirements.
- Complete ad hoc analysis and special projects for executive leadership.
Qualifications for Controller:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience.
- CPA preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction accounting, including job costing and percentage-of-completion (WIP) accounting.
- Experience leading accounting teams and developing staff.
- ERP experience;
Great Plains is a plus. - Advanced Excel and strong analytical skills.
- Collaborative leadership style with excellent communication skills.
