Assurance Intern - Summer 2027 | RSM US LLPThe Tone:

This is a summer 2027 internship at RSM US LLP, requiring travel to client locations. This role is crucial for developing strong working relationships with clients by understanding their businesses and challenges. Interns contribute to multiple team engagements, learning the audit approach and resolving accounting or reporting issues.

  • Mission:
    Resolve accounting or reporting issues by assessing risks, evaluating internal controls, and performing tests within audit engagements.
What You'll Actually Do
  • Understand client needs, business, industry, accounting systems, employees, company values, and related GAAP and GAAS issues.
  • Develop proficiency in the RSM audit approach and utilize firm tools effectively.
  • Assess client risks and evaluate the structure of their internal controls.
  • Perform substantive tests and tests of internal controls to identify and resolve accounting or reporting issues.
  • Draft financial statements according to prescribed formats.
The Must-Haves
  • Background:
    Entry-Level, working towards a Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Accounting, with 90 credit hours completed.
  • Experience:

    Ability to travel to assigned client locations and arrange for reliable transportation.
  • Skills:

    Understanding of GAAP and GAAS issues, knowledge of audit principles, risk assessment, internal control evaluation, and performing substantive testing.
  • Bonus: A minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred.
