Salary Range

About the RoleHill Street Realty is hiring a Property Accountant to join our accounting team, working directly alongside our Senior Property Accountant on a real portfolio of multifamily properties. This isn't a role where you're boxed into one narrow task — as a boutique owner-operator, we give our accounting team hands-on exposure to the full accounting cycle, direct mentorship, and visibility with property management leadership from day one.

- Assist with monthly close processes, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations for assigned properties
- Support preparation of monthly property financial statements under the guidance of the Senior Property Accountant
- Help review property-level income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports, and research variances
- Coordinate with property management teams to gather accurate revenue and expense information for month-end close
- Process and review accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management activity for assigned properties
- Assist with compiling documentation for annual audits, lender reporting, and other external reporting requests
- Support budget preparation, forecasts, and reforecasts by compiling and organizing property-level data
- Help maintain accurate accounting records and documentation in accordance with company policies and accounting standards
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred)
- At least 1 year of property accounting experience within the multifamily apartment industry
- Experience working in a multi-entity environment is a plus
- Working knowledge of GAAP and property-level financial reporting
- Proficiency with property management and accounting systems (Entrata experience is a plus)
- Strong attention to detail, with solid organizational and time management skills
- A collaborative mindset and openness to direction and mentorship from senior accounting staff
