This is a strong opportunity for someone with oil and gas revenue accounting experience who enjoys detailed analysis, regulatory reporting, owner distributions, and cross-functional problem solving.

This role supports the monthly revenue close and regulatory reporting process, helping ensure revenue is recorded accurately, filings and payments are completed on time, and wellhead sales are properly allocated to interest owners.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and analyze regulatory payable reconciliations, resolve discrepancies, and maintain supporting documentation
  • Allocate wellhead sales to interest owners, including current activity and prior-period adjustments
  • Coordinate monthly revenue payment runs and help resolve items impacting owner distributions
  • Maintain payout balances and ensure adjustments are properly supported and recorded
  • Set up and maintain revenue agreements, shipper contracts, pricing, and related revenue data in the accounting system
  • Calculate revenue accruals, prepare journal entries, process sales adjustments, and reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly revenue variance analysis
  • Partner with Land Administration, Marketing, and Operations to validate volumes, pricing, ownership, and DOI impacts
  • Support audit requests, owner inquiries, process improvements, and ad hoc reporting needs
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of oil and gas revenue accounting experience
  • Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH, SUMIFS, and large data set analysis
  • Experience with oil and gas accounting software
  • Working knowledge of revenue distributions, owner relations, DOI/ownership concepts, GAAP, contracts, pricing, reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced close environment
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across accounting, land, marketing, and operations teams
Desired Background
  • Experience supporting internal or external audit requests
  • Process improvement mindset with the ability to make large data sets easier to manage, review, and analyze

If you’re an oil and gas revenue accounting professional who enjoys detailed analysis, regulatory reporting, and working across teams, this could be a strong next step.
