Tax Specialist
Denver, CO (Hybrid, in-office)
Part-time: 20-25 hours per week
Pay rate: $28-32/hour

We are seeking a detail-oriented Tax Specialist to support our tax compliance function on a part-time basis. This role is responsible for preparing accurate documentation for sales and use tax filings, managing personal property tax compliance, and supporting general ledger reconciliations related to tax and contributions.
Responsibilities- Sales & Use Tax Compliance
- Prepare detailed work papers and supporting documentation for sales and use tax returns
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all filings prior to submission for management review
- Research and resolve discrepancies identified during the review process
- Maintain organized records to support filings and respond to inquiries as needed
- Personal Property Tax
- Manage the preparation and filing of personal property tax returns across applicable jurisdictions
- Track filing deadlines and ensure timely submission
- Maintain accurate supporting records and documentation for all filings
- Monitor for changes in jurisdictional requirements or rates
- Reconciliations & Reporting
- Reconcile charitable contributions to the general ledger on a recurring basis
- Research and resolve discrepancies between subledger and general ledger balances
- Ensure supporting documentation is complete, accurate, and properly recorded
- Assist with ad hoc reconciliation and reporting requests as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Prior experience with sales/use tax and personal property tax compliance
- Excel: proficiency with pivot tables, lookup functions (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP), and formula creation
- Net Suite experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently in a part-time capacity while meeting deadlines
