Senior Accountant

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join a collaborative accounting team supporting multiple operating entities within a shared services environment. This Senior Accountant will play a critical role in month-end close, financial reporting support, fixed asset accounting, lease accounting, audit preparation, and process improvement initiatives.

The ideal Senior Accountant is a hands-on accounting professional with strong technical accounting expertise who can effectively balance day-to-day accounting responsibilities with system enhancements and process improvement projects. This position offers significant visibility and the opportunity to work closely with finance leadership while taking ownership of key accounting functions.

• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple entities
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations, clearing accounts, and intercompany balances
• Manage corporate accrual processes across multiple departments and business units
• Prepare debt-related reporting and assist with quarterly reporting requirements
• Oversee fixed asset accounting, including:
  • Capital expenditure tracking
  • Asset capitalization
  • Depreciation calculations and reporting
  • Asset disposals
  • Fixed asset roll forwards
• Manage lease accounting and related reporting requirements
• Support interim and annual external audit activities
• Assist with ERP optimization, accounting system enhancements, and process improvement initiatives
• Partner with finance leadership to transition key accounting responsibilities and improve operational efficiencies
• Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff, including fixed asset and staff accounting team members
• Review work completed by junior accounting staff and provide guidance on accounting policies, procedures, and best practices
• Assist in prioritizing team workloads and ensuring deadlines are met accurately and efficiently

• Experience as a Senior Accountant or in an advanced accounting role with strong technical accounting expertise
• Extensive general ledger accounting experience
• Strong understanding of month-end close processes
• Experience with accrual-based accounting and journal entry preparation
• Proven balance sheet reconciliation experience
• Significant fixed asset accounting experience, including ownership of the full asset lifecycle
• Experience with lease accounting
• Financial statement preparation and reporting support experience
• Experience working in a multi-entity environment
• Prior experience mentoring, training, reviewing, or overseeing the work of accounting staff
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
