SENIOR ASSURANCE ASSOCIATE/ AUDIT SENIOR – Public Accounting!

Exciting opportunity for A Senior Assurance Associate / Audit Senior to join one of Denver’s premier CPA firms.

Selected individual will be responsible for performing and supervising audit fieldwork, reviewing the work of staff auditors, identifying and resolving accounting and audit issues, and maintaining strong client relationships. This is an excellent opportunity for an audit professional who enjoys client interaction, increasing responsibility, and mentoring junior team members.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF SENIOR ASSURANCE ASSOCIATE/ AUDIT SENIOR
  • Assist in the planning and execution of financial statement audits, reviews, compilations, and other assurance engagements.
  • Lead audit fieldwork, perform risk assessments, and evaluate financial statements, internal controls, and supporting documentation.
  • Identify and resolve accounting, financial reporting, internal control, and audit issues.
  • Prepare and review audit work papers and financial statements for accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP and professional standards.
  • Review the work of staff auditors and provide guidance, training, and constructive feedback.
  • Communicate engagement status, audit findings, and recommendations to clients, managers, and partners.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS OF THE SENIOR ASSURANCE ASSOCIATE/ AUDIT SENIOR
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, advanced degree a plus.
  • CPA or CPA candidate.
  • 3+ years of recent public accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and generally accepted auditing standards.
  • Experience planning and performing financial statement audits.
  • Ability to identify and research technical accounting and audit issues.
  • Experience supervising or reviewing the work of junior staff preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and audit software.
  • Team player
