- Prepare monthly construction draws, job cost reports, and any assignments related to development and construction involving accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, reporting or banking
- Process invoices, check requests, wire transfers for development projects in Yardi and ensuring adequacy of all necessary supporting documents for proper accounting and job cost coding
- Reconcile invoice requests against approved commitments and ensure invoices are paid within limits of contract terms and budgets and review in detail the billing from a third-party General Contractor (GC) including but not limited to: verifying all lien releases are received with correct amounts, proper documentation related to stored materials is present and correct and underlying support ties to GC pay app
- Respond to inquiries from contractors, development, and management regarding the status of vendor payments and commitments and track costs for pre-development projects
- Ensure development budgets, contract payments and commitments are not exceeded and follow all applicable agreements and amendments and work collaboratively with the Design and Construction (D&C) department to provide proper accounting details and support
- Coordinate with the D&C department on contract approvals, change order updates, forecasting of project costs, and lender compliance
- Participate in kick-off and close out meetings with general contractors and, as assigned, perform underwriting of potential general contractors
- Prepare monthly GAAP financial statements and support schedules and assist in providing backup and support for yearly project audits
- Understand and adhere to internal control processes
- Responsible for preparation of all monthly/quarterly/annual debt compliance, as assigned
- Special projects and other duties as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting – Required
- 2+ years’ experience in accounting (preferably in real estate)
- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite experience
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to run meetings
- Ability to interpret development related agreements
- Compensation: $75,000 - $85,000 / year
- Eligible for discretionary benefits: commission structure
