Accounts Payable – Commercial Real Estate

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable / Property Accountant to join a well-established local commercial real estate company. The company manages a combination of owner-managed and third-party commercial properties and is looking for a team-oriented accounting professional who enjoys variety of work functions.

This is a full-time, in-office position and offers a combination of Accounts Payable oversight and hands-on property accounting.

Accounts Payable
Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day Accounts Payable functions and AP systems/processes
• Review, code, enter, and process vendor invoices
• Maintain accurate vendor records and assist with payment processing
• Research and resolve invoice, payment, and account discrepancies
• Work closely with property managers, vendors, and the accounting team
• Maintain full accounting responsibility for approximately six property ledgers
• Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and account reconciliations
• Assist with monthly financial reporting and month-end close
• Review property-level income and expenses for accuracy
• Assist with bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Maintain organized and accurate accounting records
• Help ensure accounting deadlines and internal procedures are consistently met
• Support additional property accounting functions as needed

Accounts Payable Qualifications

• Previous Accounts Payable and accounting experience required
• Commercial real estate/property accounting experience strongly preferred
• Experience working with multiple property or entity ledgers preferred
• Yardi experience preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Quick Books
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and responsibilities
• Strong problem-solving and reconciliation skills
• Team-oriented with the ability to communicate effectively with accounting staff, property managers, and vendors
• Comfortable working in the office daily

Accounts Payable Position Highlights

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys more variety than a traditional Accounts Payable position. In addition to managing AP processes and systems, this individual will have direct responsibility for the full accounting of approximately six property ledgers and will be an important part of the company's property accounting team.
