Entry Level Accountant

Description We are looking for an Entry Level Accountant to support day-to-day financial operations for a food processing organization in Denver, Colorado. This position is well suited for someone beginning their accounting career who is eager to build hands-on experience across payables, receivables, reconciliations, and journal activity. The role offers the opportunity to work with a collaborative team while helping maintain accurate records and timely financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

- Process vendor invoices, verify supporting documentation, and help ensure payments are completed accurately and on schedule.

- Assist with customer billing and cash application activities while keeping accounts receivable records current and organized.

- Prepare bank reconciliations by comparing transactions, identifying differences, and helping resolve outstanding items.

- Review general ledger balances and perform account reconciliations to support accurate month-end close activities.

- Record routine journal entries and maintain financial data with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

- Communicate with internal departments and external contacts to address invoice questions, payment discrepancies, and account issues.

- Support accounting documentation and reporting needs by organizing records and assisting with audit-ready files when needed. Requirements - Foundational knowledge of accounts payable processes and invoice handling.

- Familiarity with accounts receivable activities, including billing and payment posting.

- Ability to complete bank reconciliations and investigate variances carefully.

- Understanding of account reconciliation principles and basic general ledger structure.

- Experience preparing or assisting with accounting entries in a detail-focused or academic setting.

- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage recurring deadlines.

- Proficiency with spreadsheets and comfort learning accounting systems and financial workflows.
