The Accounting Associate will manage payroll administration, processing and reconciliations for multiple companies while supporting assigned general accounting responsibilities. The position will also assist with billing, audit support, tax filings, research and ad hoc accounting and systems projects.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized and comfortable managing multiple priorities and recurring deadlines. This is a strong opportunity for an accounting professional who has solid foundational skills and wants to grow within a fast-paced, evolving organization.
This position is a full-time, in-office position based out of our Denver Tech Center office.NOTE:
Only people who are currently living in Colorado will be considered for this role. Salary / Benefits Package:
- Base Salary range of $52,500 to $59,000 per year, based on experience

- Review timecards for accuracy and resolve discrepancies before payroll is processed.
- Receive approved variable compensation files, bonus sheets and commission payouts and include them in the appropriate payroll cycle.
- Administer scheduled payrolls for all companies in accordance with approved calendars and controls.
- Generate retroactive and prorated pay batches and enter approved manual voluntary deductions, including 401(k) and parking deductions.
- Generate monthly payouts for applicable 1099 contractors.
- Maintain approved payroll changes, employee data, deductions, benefits-related inputs, bonuses and other pay items.
- Prepare payroll previews, obtain required approvals, submit and accept payroll in ADP, and retain complete processing support.
- Respond to routine employee payroll questions while maintaining confidentiality.
- Reconcile payroll registers, cash activity, payroll liabilities, deductions and payroll-related general ledger accounts.
- Prepare payroll journal entries and supporting schedules.
- Maintain payroll records and provide support for audits, tax filings and information requests.
- Prepare billing for payroll and bookkeeping services and reconcile billing support to source records.
- Receive and process customer payments, apply them to the appropriate accounts and invoices, and deposit checks as needed.
- Provide accounts payable support and backup coverage as assigned.
- Prepare assigned bank and general ledger account reconciliations and routine journal entries with complete supporting documentation.
- Support month-end close tasks related to payroll, billing and assigned accounts.
- Prepare and file monthly General Excise Tax returns for applicable entities and maintain complete filing support.
- Research discrepancies and support the Senior Accountant and Controller with audit support and other general accounting projects.
- Support ad hoc accounting, finance and systems projects, including the Net Suite implementation, process improvements, testing and data cleanup, as assigned.
- Provide backup support to other accounting functions and maintain accounting records in accordance with department standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Two to three years of payroll, accounting, bookkeeping or related experience.
- Experience with ADP Payroll.
- Foundational accounting knowledge with a strong understanding of accounts payable and reconciliations.
- Self-directed, motivated, and able to work independently
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Net Suite or a similar accounting/ERP system preferred
