Description Of Job

The Work Unit:
The Indoor Environment Program operates and enforces state-wide programs in asbestos, lead and CFCs, supports the EPA by developing regulations, issuing permits, approving and auditing training, inspecting for compliance, and taking enforcement actions. The program provides public assistance and outreach to Coloradans.

What You Will Be Doing:
Provide full and overarching administrative support to the Indoor Environment Program through established administrative processes and general office operations. Responsibilities include proctoring lead and asbestos certification exams, responding to records requests, invoicing, tracking payments, assisting with notices, maintaining office records, data entry, and providing non-technical customer service to regulated communities and the public.

Job Duties Assistant and Backup Certification Exam Proctor
  • Travel to test locations (typically once per week) and load/unload testing materials
  • Maintain and restock materials used for certification exams
  • Enforce test session times and rules
  • Answer procedural questions for exam takers
  • Provide quality customer service to attendees
Assistant and Backup Records, Permits and Certification Records
  • Process CORA requests timely; manage off-site records and recall as required
  • Destroy older records per retention schedule and document actions
  • Assist with permit/certification applications and digitization of records
Permits
  • Enter asbestos and lead permits and demolition permits accurately
  • Review applications for accuracy and current certifications
  • Notify inspectors of permitting issues for correction
  • Mail permits and notices to clients; process special requests; manage payments
Certifications
  • Review applications to determine certification under laws
  • Provide excellent customer service; respond to calls/emails
  • Authorize proficiency testing and certification without supervisor approval
  • Grade exams with automated systems; issue certificates
  • Match payments to applications; maintain secure records and data entry for exam questions
CFC program administration
  • Enter facility registrations and county inspection data into CFC database
  • Correct outdated information; respond to inquiries; generate invoices
  • Assist with CFC fiscal issues; manage site registrations and payments
Clerical, Data Entry
  • General clerical/data entry; filing, copying, scanning, typing
  • Maintain contact lists for regulated firms and providers; process daily mail
Other Duties

Attends meetings, serves on task forces or teams, completes projects, and performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
