Role Overview
Provide administrative support and customer service for the City and County of Denver’s Park Permitting unit, assisting with permits for Denver’s parks and facilities. The role handles a high volume of customer inquiries, maintains permitting software, processes payments, and supports operational data collection and reporting.
Work Hours and CompensationThis is an on‑call, part‑time hourly position, not exceeding 39 hours per week. The starting pay is $21.26 per hour. The position is eligible for the City and County of Denver’s 457b retirement plan but does not receive other benefits.
Location & ScheduleHybrid model: on site at the Montclair Civic Building Tuesdays‑Thursdays, from home Mondays and Fridays. Additional off‑site meetings may occur. Typical hours are Monday‑Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. with flexibility. Hours reduce from November to March; most work occurs April – October.
Responsibilities- Interact professionally, courteously, and accurately with a high volume of customers.
- Greet in‑person customers and assist with permitting inquiries.
- Return permitting voicemails daily.
- Perform general office tasks.
- Process in‑person payments accurately and timely.
- Maintain proficiency in permitting software: create, edit, manipulate, and retrieve files and databases, and review reports.
- Follow standard processes and procedures.
- Support Permit Office staff as needed.
- Coordinate with other City agencies and Park Rangers as appropriate.
- Attend trainings and meetings.
- High school diploma or GED, HiSET, or TASC Certificate.
- Two (2) years of clerical experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Strong verbal and written communication; customer service expertise.
- Self‑driven with effective time‑management and prioritization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, SharePoint) and Active Net.
