Position: Temporary Aide: DORA/Public Utilities Commission

Hybrid Workplace Arrangement

Although this position will be designated under the department’s hybrid workplace program, it will still be required to report to the department office on a scheduled basis and at the discretion of the supervisor, based on business need.

Responsibilities
  • Creates or modifies industry training materials, including guidance on procedures before and after obtaining authority or permit.
  • Explains proper use of common forms and oversees other requirements and expectations.
  • Updates the transportation program website.
  • Creates training videos and develops generalized and industry‑specific training programs.
  • Supports projects and reports by identifying and collecting documentation, reviewing and analyzing data, drafting and preparing materials.
  • Performs administrative duties, including phone and email communications, printing and organizing documents/records, assisting customers with questions, and interacting with internal databases.
Minimum Qualifications

Option 1:
Experience

  • Two (2) years of experience providing administrative office support, including at least four (4) of the following:
    • Outstanding customer service internally and externally in person, by phone, mail, and electronically.
    • Managing multiple projects and competing interests.
    • Compiling and analyzing data, including data entry.
    • Creating or modifying training and/or technical instructions/resources.
    • Updating content for websites and/or social media posts.

Option 2:
Combination of Education and Experience

  • Two (2) years of combined education and experience, including:
    • Partial credit for completed college/university coursework that did not result in a degree (unofficial transcripts required).
    • Experience providing administrative office support, including at least four (4) of the following (same list as above).

  • Experience with a state agency, non‑profit organization, utilities, or transportation industry.
  • Experience in a high‑stress, fast‑paced, high‑profile environment with shifting priorities.
  • Experience supporting programs by tracking, reporting, and ensuring project timelines are met.
