- Travel
- Demonstrated expertise in Department of the Interior (DOI) and National Park Service (NPS) travel policies, with a strong working knowledge of the Federal Travel Regulations (FTR) and DOI Temporary Duty (TDY) Travel Policy. Proven ability to interpret, apply, and ensure compliance with complex federal travel guidelines, including authorization, reimbursement, and documentation requirements. Charge Card
- In-depth knowledge of DOI and NPS charge card policies, including proper use, reconciliation, and oversight of government‑issued travel cards. Thorough understanding of the GSA Smart Pay (Smartcard) Program, with demonstrated ability to enforce policy compliance, monitor usage, prevent misuse, and support audits or reviews. - Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams, MS Outlook, MS SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat
The enrollee will assist with ensuring compliance with Department of the Interior and NPS travel policies, supporting timely processing and reconciliation activities, enhancing data accuracy and tracking, and providing guidance to staff and supervisors on travel procedures and requirements.
- Provide critical program support to improve oversight, coordination, and customer service related to travel operations and charge card management across the region - 30%
- Assist with ensuring compliance with Department of the Interior and NPS travel policies, supporting timely processing and reconciliation activities, enhancing data accuracy and tracking, and providing guidance to staff and supervisors on travel procedures and requirements - 30%
- Help to improve internal controls, reduce processing delays, and strengthen communication with parks and the regional office to ensure employees can meet travel requirements efficiently and in compliance with federal policy - 30%
- Assist in other administrative functions - 10%
