Position Summary

The Manager for Projects & Operations provides comprehensive project management, administrative, and operational support to the Student Engagement and Leadership Development business unit within the Division of Student Affairs. This central coordinating role ensures the effective operation, execution, and logistical support of programs, services, events, and initiatives spanning multiple engagement functions.

Essential Functions
  • Portfolio‑wide project and event management: coordinate planning, execution, and logistics for first‑generation students, non‑traditional students, and large scale events.
  • Administrative operations and contract management: support contracts, purchasing, vendor coordination, invoices, and compliance with University policies.
  • Facilities, guest services, and front‑line support: oversee front desk operations, event check‑in, and liaison for facilities and space coordination.
  • Inventory, systems, and operational logistics: manage inventory, supplies, equipment, and maintain tracking systems.
  • Cross‑unit coordination and communication: collaborate with staff, campus partners, and external stakeholders, maintain records, and assist with special projects.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with internal and external constituents in a confidential, friendly, and responsive manner via phone, email, face‑to‑face meetings, and video conferencing.
  • Self‑starter capable of coordinating multiple tasks simultaneously with attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with web‑based data management and modern office practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook), Zoom, and Qualtrics. Experience with Banner, Slate, Concur, Qualtrics, 25 Live, Crimson Connect is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree or combination of 3 or more years of education and work experience.
  • Experience with customer service management.
  • Experience working with students.
  • Experience with event and project management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 1–2 years of experience in customer service in an office setting.
  • 1–2 years of experience in business processes in an office setting.
  • Experience with Word, Excel, Adobe, and Outlook in a professional context.
Working Environment

Standard office environment with occasional interruptions. Moderate to high stress level, quiet to moderate noise level.

Physical Activities

Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods and occasionally move around the office or campus, transporting objects up to 20 lbs.

Work Schedule

Onsite with occasional evenings, weekends, and holiday shifts. Staff are expected to support student Hallmark, Tradition, and other program events throughout the year.
