Please refer to the Labor Agreement included in the above link for details.)The Board Policy and Constituent Liaison supports RTD’s Board of Directors by conducting in-depth policy research, facilitating constituent engagement, and coordinating key public-facing administrative functions. This role serves as a bridge between the Board, RTD staff, and the public, ensuring that Board members are well-prepared with comprehensive background materials for Board member agenda items, governance initiatives are effectively tracked, and constituents are engaged in a timely, complete, and professional manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Governance and Policy Analysis Prepares for and attends Board and committee meetings.

Conducts thorough research on policy and action items prior to Board discussions.

Liaises with RTD subject matter experts to review planned agenda topics and assess policy implications.

Assists Board Directors by clarifying policy issues and coordinating follow-up responses.

Tracks progress on committee work plans and governance initiatives.

Helps research, write, and prepare Board-requested policy and governance Discussion and Action Items.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communications Facilitates proactive and reactive communications between the Board and constituents.

Oversees the Board’s primary public-facing email inboxes and coordinates with staff subject matter experts and the Board Office Executive Manager on responses

Works under the direction of the Board Office Executive Manager to track and respond to Director requests for information.

Assists Board Directors with scheduling, tracking, and preparing for virtual and in-person outreach events. This includes securing appropriate supplies and making necessary purchases in advance of an event.

Supports the Board Office Executive Manager in managing the Citizens Advisory Committee, including preparing for meetings, facilitating meetings, tracking and responding to follow-up requests, and conducting annual recruitment and application review for new CAC members.

Liaises with RTD Community Engagement and Governmental Relations staff to ensure consistent and aligned messaging.

Facilitates public engagement during Board meetings, including managing public comment sections and follow-up.

Board Development and Administrative Coordination Supports the production of Board and committee meetings, including virtual and in-person meetings, retreats, and study sessions.

Coordinates administrative functions such as scheduling and overall event coordination for Director community-based activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Bachelor’s degree in public administration, political science, journalism, communications, business, liberal arts, engineering, or related field.

Two (2) years of professional experience.

Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Office Suite (Work, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).Ability to attend routine evening and occasional weekend meetings as required.

Preferred One (1) year of experience working with elected officials.
