Information Specialist

Englewood Public Schools is seeking an Information Specialist to support, manage, and maintain the Student Information System (SIS), Infinite Campus, ensuring student data remains up to date and accurate for district and state reporting needs manage specific state reporting collections. The ideal candidate is collaborative, an effective communicator, and a critical thinker.

Qualifications

Prior experience with School Information Systems (SIS) and SQL Databases is preferred or willingness to learn. Working knowledge of the operations of a school district and state reporting requirements is essential. Strong computer skills with considerable experience in MS Office (Excel) and data entry Excellent communication skills, customer service skills, organizational skills & attention to detail. Ability to work well as part of a team and independently in solving problems.

Ability to conduct training and informational meetings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service Coordinate and manage the following state data submissions:
Student October Count, SPED Discipline, School Discipline, Attendance, S-EBT, and Student End of Year Submit monthly updates to Colorado Department of Education Data Pipeline Attend weekly Data Pipeline calls to stay abreast of data requirements and process changes Act as the point of contact during Colorado Department of Education Student audits Provide ongoing enrollment reports leading up to Student October count Provide district statistical data as requested Provide 2nd level Infinite Campus technical support Manage Infinite Campus releases (monthly updates) Manage inter-system data scripts/request updates.

This may include working with vendor(s) as needed Assist with set up and support of Summer School in Infinite Campus Coordinate customization in Infinite Campus to meet the specific needs of the District. This may include working with vendors as needed Act as CIC liaison in resolving operational problems and technical issues In conjunction with District Registrar, manages student records systems and processes Establish site liaison rapport that allows for a proactive response to potential problems Apply and implement knowledge, skills, and new understandings to support systems and processes Create/maintain documentation to support the systems and processes Remain current on systems and improvements, including coordinating with District Registrar to keep the district's student information system current and aligned with registration procedures Actively participate in ongoing professional development opportunities Monitor self-scheduling and make appropriate recommendations/adjustments Develops and maintains excellent working relationships with the Colorado Department of Education, District Administration, School Site Leadership, Teachers, and Building Office Staff Perform other related duties as assigned or requested

Education/Training/Experience

Experience in working with SIS, specifically Infinite Campus

Experience with state reporting, auditing, and collaboration with colleagues and CDE related to the Data Pipeline Preferred but not required
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or other technology-related fields or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Licenses or Certifications

Valid Colorado Driver's License

Physical Requirements

Occasionally lifting 5 (five) to 20 (twenty) pounds. Occasional standing and walking. Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, and reaching. Vision; specifically close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

Mostly clean and comfortable.

Salary

Starting rate: $29.82-$33.73 per hour, depending on education and experience.
