Denver, CO – Hybrid (4 days in-person, 1 day remote with option for flexible hours)

Executive Director
Salary Range: $60,000–$68,000 annually
Full-Time (Monday–Friday)
The Legal Aid Foundation of Colorado and COLTAF (the Colorado Lawyer Trust Account Foundation) are nonprofit organizations committed to expanding access to justice by supporting civil legal aid for low-income Coloradans. The Legal Aid Foundation conducts a statewide fundraising campaign that supports Colorado Legal Services through direct mail, peer-to-peer fundraising, and individual, tailored asks. The Colorado Lawyer Trust Account Foundation administers Colorado's Interest on Lawyer Trust Account (IOLTA) program.
This entails receiving interest payments from partner banks that hold COLTAF accounts and making grants to legal aid providers in Colorado.
We are seeking a self-motivated Executive Assistant to provide support to the Executive Director and Associate Director. The ideal candidate is an organized, tech-savvy professional who is willing to be flexible and learn new skills to advance our mission of ensuring justice for all Coloradans.
Key ResponsibilitiesCalendar & Meeting Management
• Maintain and coordinate the Executive Director's schedule.
• Schedule meetings, prepare materials, and ensure timely follow-up to facilitate donor meetings, group presentations, meeting/conference attendance, etc.
Travel & Expense Support
• Arrange travel logistics, including accommodations, flights, and itineraries.
• Manage and submit expense reports and reimbursements through
Board & Committee Support
• Draft and distribute meeting minutes for board and committee meetings.
• Assist with logistics, scheduling, communications, and agenda drafting.
• Maintain accurate lists of current board and committee members and facilitate the appointment/election of board and committee members.
• Ensure the smooth execution of hybrid board meetings to include ordering meals, preparing name badges/plates, coordinating tech, facilitating Zoom meetings, screen sharing materials during meetings, coordinating attendee parking/building access, etc.
Development & Operations
• Check mail and log donation checks.
• Assist with mailings, donor correspondence, and campaign logistics. Including assisting with large volume mailings which require the use of a high-capacity printer, folder/inserter machine, and postage machine.
• Proofread written materials for grammar, clarity, and tone.
• Provide general support across administrative and fundraising functions.
• Assist in maintaining donor database.
• In cooperation with other team members, facilitate the planning and execution of fundraising events outside of the office, to periodically include morning or evening events in Denver, Boulder, Colorado Springs, Pueblo and other areas of Colorado.
• Maintain office supplies and equipment in an organized state.
• The Manager of Communications and Administration is primarily responsible for monitoring and ordering supplies and equipment. Communicate any supplies or equipment needs to them.
Other Duties
• Take on special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
• Assist other members of our team, as needed, during busy months or large projects.
QualificationsRequired
• Bachelor's degree OR Associate's degree with relevant work experience in the legal or nonprofit sectors.
• Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Embrace technology in all aspects of work & proactively seek out new software tools and means of automating work.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience managing schedules, drafting correspondence, and supporting executive-level leadership.
• Flexibility and willingness to be a team player. We are a small non-profit, and all staff are routinely required to work on tasks outside of their job description.
Preferred
• Familiarity with nonprofit governance and fundraising practices.
• Experience with donor management systems or similar CRMs.
• Prior experience in legal, advocacy, or philanthropic settings.
