This is an on-call position, which means it is a part-time, hourly role. This position will work no more than 39 hours per week. The hiring hourly rate for this position is $22.53/hour - $25.50/hour , based on experience, and is eligible to enroll in the City and County of Denver’s 457b retirement plan. This position is not eligible for other additional benefits.
Scheduleand Work Location
This position will primarily be housed out of the Harvey Park Recreation Center (2120 S. Tennyson Way, Denver) and will not work remotely. The typical work schedule for this position will fall on weekdays (Monday – Friday) with the occasional weekend or holiday, dependent on program needs and special events. This position will work no more than 39 hours per week.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Perform grant reporting related duties including collecting data and submitting claims to support grant-related funding requirements
- Utilize Active Net membership tracking systems to input data, create, edit, and compile reports
- Work with Program Coordinators to report/track program attendance, membership participation, and other necessary information for tracking and billing purposes
- Support purchasing, billing, and asset inventory
- Administer and review program participant evaluation instruments for assigned programs; analyze and use findings to increase program and instructional effectiveness
- Aid Program Coordinators with communicating staff, volunteer, candidate selection, and customer schedules, distributing available resources, and assisting with record-keeping
- Partner with Marketing and Communications Department to publicize Alternative Sports programs by creating and producing materials and developing web-based content
- Engage in community outreach activities to secure community acceptance and increase participation in programming by distributing printed materials, collaborating with recreation centers, Denver Public Schools, and community partners
- Support functions for Alternative Sports activities, programs, permits, and events including open enrollments in our Active Net Membership tracking system and group enrollments
- Provide exceptional customer service through all lines of communication including providing program information and assisting with registration
- Support key objectives defined in the Outdoor Adventure and Alternative Sports Strategic Plan
- Assist with instructing Alternative Sports programming, as needed
- Perform other duties, as assigned

Our ideal candidate must have a passion for supporting the administrative functions of inclusive, fun, and engaging recreation programs and must possess superior customer service skills and phone/email etiquette. Additionally, our ideal candidate will possess:
- Experience and proficiency with Active Net and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with assisting in the operations of recreation programming
- Experience with grant reporting and administration
- Experience addressing diverse audiences through both written and oral communication
- Bilingual language skills
Minimum Qualifications
Education requirement:
Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
Experience Requirement:
Three (3) years of full performance office support/clerical work (type and level of an Administrative Support Assistant III).
Education/Experience Equivalency:
Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirement.
