Express Service Technician Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated, dependable, and team-oriented Express Service Technician to join our fast-paced automotive service team. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to begin or grow their career in automotive service. The Express Technician is responsible for performing high-quality routine maintenance services while delivering an exceptional customer experience through efficiency, accuracy, and attention to detail.
The successful candidate will work closely with Service Advisors and fellow technicians to ensure timely vehicle service, uphold dealership safety standards, and contribute to overall customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities Routine Maintenance- Perform oil and filter changes efficiently and accurately.
- Drain, refill, and inspect engine fluids according to manufacturer recommendations.
- Complete maintenance services within established productivity standards.
- Perform tire rotations and balancing services.
- Inspect tires for wear, damage, and proper tread depth.
- Adjust tire pressures to manufacturer specifications.
- Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections during every service visit.
- Evaluate battery condition, brake wear, tire condition, and alignment concerns.
- Accurately document findings and recommendations.
- Check and top off all essential vehicle fluids, including:
- Engine oil
- Coolant
- Transmission fluid
- Power steering fluid
- Brake fluid
- Windshield washer fluid
- Replace engine and cabin air filters.
- Install windshield wiper blades.
- Replace light bulbs and other basic maintenance components as needed.
- Document inspection results clearly and accurately.
- Communicate recommended repairs and maintenance needs to Service Advisors.
- Support technicians and advisors in delivering a seamless customer experience.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all dealership and manufacturer safety procedures.
- Ensure work areas remain free of hazards, spills, grease, and debris.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Basic mechanical knowledge is preferred but not required.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
