Overview / Position SummaryThe Business Development Manager is a critical member of the Growth Team responsible for developing new installations of GMR’s 911 Nurse Navigation program for new and existing clients. They work independently and collaboratively across all departments in identifying potential locations and develop a business plan to achieve success for greenfield growth. They gather verifiable data to analyze business opportunities, develop, maintain, and be responsible for customer relationships during the entire sales cycle, from prospecting through contract execution and transition to implementation and operations.
They develop sales presentations, lead proposal development, and draft and negotiate contracts. They are responsible for closing sales and achieving growth targets in their assigned sectors.
- Oversee all phases of new customer development, from prospecting through close.
- Work independently and collaboratively to identify potential new locations and develop a business plan for greenfield growth.
- Gather and analyze data with the development team on new locations.
- Collaborate with lead generation, marketing, public relations, and operations to develop sales strategies.
- Validate and interpret information gathered through on-site visits, local and industry and competitive intelligence.
- Develop new sales strategies, pitches, and client approaches.
- Enter, track, and update lead and pipeline information in Salesforce.
- Attend trade shows and industry conferences as a representative of the program.
- Assist in the development and budget planning process in conjunction with senior management.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Marketing, Healthcare or related field or a combination of education and experience.
- EMT or paramedic certification (current or past) strongly encouraged.
- Sales training courses/experience preferred.
- Excellent computer skills in a MS Windows environment and Microsoft Office Suite, especially in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Skilled in long sales cycles (18+ months), complex sales, and selling to government entities.
- Business to business / business to government (B2B / B2G) prospecting, RFP response, presentation, and contract negotiation skills.
- Persuasive writing and proposal development.
- Interpreting proformas and financial statements to understand revenue and EBITDA implications.
- Two (2) years of B2B / B2G sales and/or business development experience required; 5 years preferred.
- Minimum five (5) years of progressive experience in emergency medical services, 911 dispatch, or a metropolitan fire department.
- In-depth understanding of services and operations related to delivery of 911 EMS.
