JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Director, Procurement provides strategic and operational leadership for enterprise-wide procurement activities across multiple business units, including Upstream, Midstream, CCUS, and Power Generation.

This role oversees sourcing, contracting, supplier management, and cost optimization initiatives that support diverse operating models and capital programs.

The position leads a large, multi-layered organization of managers and experienced professionals and plays a critical role in shaping procurement strategy aligned with enterprise objectives.

The Senior Director operates with significant autonomy, addressing complex and often ambiguous challenges with broad cross-functional and cross-organizational impact, while upholding BKV's standards, values, and culture.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Typical job responsibilities of the Senior Director Procurement include:

  • Provide procurement leadership and governance across multiple business units, ensuring consistent strategy and execution while addressing the unique needs of Upstream, Midstream, CCUS, and Power Generation operations.
  • Balance enterprise-wide standardization with business-unit-specific requirements, capital programs, and regulatory environments.
  • Align category strategies and supplier portfolios to support both traditional energy operations and emerging low-carbon and generation initiatives.
  • Develop and execute short- and mid-term procurement strategies that support operational excellence, cost efficiency, and risk management.
  • Lead and mentor a large team of procurement leaders, managers, and professionals, fostering high performance, engagement, and professional growth.
  • Oversee strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and contract management for critical materials, services, and capital projects.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, Legal, Engineering, and ESG teams to align procurement initiatives with enterprise priorities.
  • Drive continuous improvement across procurement processes, systems, and governance frameworks.
  • Provide executive-level insight and analytics on spend, savings, supplier performance, and market conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal controls, ethical sourcing standards, and company policies.
  • Identify procurement-related risks and develop mitigation strategies, including supply continuity and market volatility planning.
REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Understanding of natural gas industry standards, market trends, emerging issues and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong understanding of natural gas and energy industry standards, market dynamics, emerging issues, and regulatory requirements.
  • Deep expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and contract negotiations.
  • Advanced leadership and management skills including achieving results through influence, guiding performance and development, and fostering a motivating and inclusive workplace.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and job-related applications. Uses understanding of digital concepts to create basic digital tools.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive procurement or supply chain leadership experience, preferably within energy, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
