Position: Billing Manager I

Overview

Modivcare is seeking an experienced Billing Manager I to optimize and standardize revenue cycle processes and provide strategic insights and leadership to support billing operations and organizational goals.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in all aspects of revenue cycle management.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations for leadership decision‑making.
  • Lead the development and implementation of advanced revenue cycle strategies.
  • Support and develop Billing Analysts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure timely and accurate client invoicing.
  • Utilize advanced data tools (e.g., Access, databases) to support complex invoice creation.
  • Design and improve process flows with minimal oversight.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls for invoice preparation and ensure SOX compliance.
  • Maintain process documentation and cycle narratives for billing operations.
  • Conduct internal, external, and client contract audits as needed.
  • Align policies and procedures with evolving processes.
  • Lead special projects, including complex system implementations.
  • Facilitate team meetings to drive collaboration and process improvements.
  • Manage operational scope of complex, cross‑functional projects.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance systems, processes, and functionality.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Establish goals and provide regular updates on project progress and performance.
  • Drive accountability and adherence to deadlines within the team.
  • Perform additional duties and lead projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field required.
  • Seven (7) plus years of experience in financial analysis and/or billing in a high‑volume, data-intensive environment.
  • Experience in healthcare or logistics preferred.
  • Experience in a public company with SOX‑compliant internal controls preferred, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • In‑depth knowledge of revenue cycle management.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience working with large datasets.
  • Detail‑oriented with an innovative mindset.
  • Strong problem‑solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer focus and decision‑making capabilities.
  • Advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, v‑lookups, macros, power queries).
  • Proficiency in Access and SQL.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Self‑starter with strong initiative and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Strong relationship‑building skills.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure.
Salary & Benefits

Salary: $72,000 - $87,000, bonus eligible based on individual and company performance.
