Graduate Assistant - Marketing & Theatre Production

The Graduate Assistant (GA) - Marketing & Theatre Production in the School of Music is responsible for researching, compiling data, and integrating that data into a departmental marketing process to promote events, build an audience, increase community reach, and support student recruitment. The GA also assists the Theatre Director with administrative tasks related to theatre production.

Key

Job Duties Marketing and Promotions
  • Amplify School of Music brand recognition through comprehensive and cohesive marketing campaigns, coordinating wise stewardship of funds.
  • Brainstorm, formulate, and produce marketing campaigns for large initiatives within the school, utilizing assessment data for enhancement.
  • Complete creative content requests through the CCU Communications work order system as needed.
  • Meet weekly with the Dean and/or Dean's Assistant of the School of Music for direction, oversight, and progress discussion.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
Theatre Production
  • Track theatre prospective student inquiries, send initial email, answer follow‑up questions, and assist in faculty communications.
  • Manage theatre budgets and reconcile credit cards for the Theatre Faculty.
  • Maintain and organize theatre storage and workshop spaces for cleanliness, efficiency, and safety.
  • Provide direct supervision and training to Theatre Work‑Study staff, ensuring effective performance and adherence to departmental standards.
  • Serve as Production Manager for all theatre productions.
  • Secure production rights and manage script distribution and returns.
  • Recruit, hire, and supervise student crew, work‑study staff, and pit musicians.
  • Coordinate production logistics, including truck/U‑Haul rentals, load‑in/load‑out, and equipment (lifts, microphones, percussion).
  • Manage vendor relationships and rentals, including photography, videography (as permitted), and performance equipment.
  • Oversee performance operations, including comp ticket distribution and venue booking.
  • Handle financial administration, including processing stipends and production‑related expenses.
  • Maintain theatre supplies and inventory and ensure workshop readiness.
  • Coordinate administrative and scheduling needs, including contractor access, absence reporting, and special campus arrangements.
Work Environment

While performing these duties, you may be required to walk, stand, sit, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, and speak with clarity. Appropriate vision, hearing, and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds are required. Irregular hours, including nights and weekends, may be necessary.

Graduate Assistant Program Details

The Graduate Assistant position requires a minimum of a two‑year commitment, coinciding with entry into and completion of a CCU graduate program. The GA must possess an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution and be accepted and enrolled in one of CCU's graduate programs. The standard workweek is 20 hours per week, not to exceed 29 hours during the year. Compensation includes a monthly stipend and a tuition waiver for a master’s degree through Colorado Christian University.

  • Committed follower of Jesus Christ, believing in salvation by grace alone through faith in His atonement on the cross.
  • Ability to communicate personal faith and apply biblical principles and convictions in the workplace, with a strong sense of calling to the ministry of Colorado Christian University.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required with acceptance into a CCU graduate program.
  • Awareness of technical skills associated with content creation.
  • Undergraduate experience in marketing preferred.
  • Desire to enter the marketing field preferred.
