True North is looking for an Account Manager II to join our Risk Management team in our Denver, Colorado office. The Account Manager’s job is to perform duties and maintain quality service that supports our Risk Management accounts, including clients, insurance companies, and producers.
This role focuses on managing a portfolio of generalist and real estate accounts, with key responsibilities including overseeing renewals, marketing accounts, and delivering exceptional client service.

This position has an anticipated work schedule of Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, with flexibility for a Hybrid schedule of Tuesday-Thursday in the office and Monday & Friday remote after the first 90 days.

In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (EPEWA) we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles that will be, or could be, performed in Colorado. Colorado Hiring Range:
This position is an Exempt role with a compensation of $75,000-$85,000 annual salary. The pay will vary depending on your location, skills, and experience. In addition to your base compensation, you will have the opportunity to earn up to an additional 8% of your annual salary based on the performance of your individual goals and the goals of the firm.
Job Functions
- Accurately manage client accounts with a proactive service approach, ensuring all deadlines and service levels are met
- Serve as subject matter expert for niche and/or industry specialization
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients and carriers, both internal and external
- Manage projects as appropriate to client lifecycle and/or as requested by the client or production team
- Lead the creation of materials for recurring client meetings; analyze client data and present findings and recommendations
- Manage delivery of the firm’s commitments based on the suite of services purchased by the client
- Assist in marketing and placing new business and/or renewal business while maintaining process per workflows
- Mentor and train Account Specialists and Account Managers on industry knowledge, regulatory requirements, and available tools
- Coordinate firm resources such as Claims, Legal, Safety, Marketing, and/or Technology as needed
- Keep accurate records of policies, renewals, and payments; stay current on insurance regulations, trends, and products
- Travel to visit clients or carriers as needed; collaborate with regional offices to ensure alignment in processes and practices
- High School diploma or GED required, two or four-year degree preferred
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in commercial insurance industry required
- Property & Casualty Insurance license required
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and basic PowerPoint functions
- Prior customer service experience required
- Understand the different processes/forms associated with the varying coverages and insurers
- Experience working with EPIC Agency Management Software preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good leadership, problem-solving, and time-management skills
- Advanced analytical skills and attention to detail
- Good customer service skills, including telephone and listening skills
- Good planning, organizational, and prioritization skills
- Ability and motivation to work independently
- Ability to work within a team and to foster teamwork
