Position: Business Manager (Spirits)

Job Summary

The Business Manager serves as the primary point of contact for assigned suppliers in the market. The role masters and drives five core competencies: business planning, performance evaluation, product and inventory management, pricing and revenue management, and demand planning/forecasting/budgeting. The Business Manager works with cross‑functional stakeholders to develop and implement business plans, embraces BBG’s Trade Development mission, adheres to business rules, supports the Reliability Model, and acts as the local market expert on customers, brands, key sales drivers, trends, and market dynamics.

Prior supplier management or trade development experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain business planning cadence with assigned suppliers, develop monthly execution/business plans, and provide timely sales information documents.
  • Identify local market and investment opportunities by leveraging key sales drivers; develop sales documents including pricing, advertising, POS, sell sheets, and supporting analytics.
  • Develop, negotiate, and communicate incentives and up to 20 rationalized goals per supplier/brand/product; manage the goal model.
  • Continuously evaluate performance metrics, maintain supplier scorecards, and provide regular updates on metrics versus budget.
  • Collaborate with Data Stewards to manage sales and purchase blocks, ensure allocation business rules, and address over‑inventory products.
  • Engage with Revenue Management and suppliers on pricing changes, communication approaches, and pricing business rules.
  • Partner with Demand Planning to prepare monthly demand processes, manage local market budgets, and provide forecast anomalies.
  • Negotiate and manage tactical budgets with assigned suppliers and finance to drive effective investment spending.
  • Ensure compliance with all established business rules and the Reliability Model.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or equivalent training and work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the industry.
  • Advanced PC skills in Microsoft Office and other computer programs, including presentation software.
  • Results‑oriented professional with strong verbal and written communication skills, diplomacy, discretion, and customer‑service focus.
  • Ability to multi‑task, work independently and within a team, pay close attention to detail, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong business planning and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of trade development fundamentals (supplier, sales, customer, and brand).
  • Strong sales, finance, budget management, negotiation, and management skills.
  • Ability to translate strategy into relevant marketplace activity.
  • Analytic and reporting skills, sound judgment and problem‑solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous management experience.
  • Relevant cross‑functional experience (finance, operations, IT, HR, project management, etc.).
  • Proficiency in analysis of syndicated consumer data (IRI, Nielsen).
  • Budget and/or P&L experience with a major CPG company.
Physical Requirements

Regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone.

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary Range: $96,600 – $131,000. Eligible to participate in the Breakthru Beverage annual bonus program. Benefits include health care, life insurance, time off, and participation in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
