Role SummaryRowan is seeking a high-impact senior individual contributor that will work closely with our leadership team to stay focused, aligned, and ahead of the market as we scale. Reporting directly to the CEO, this Sr. Principal-level role will serve as a trusted partner to the executive team, translating strategic priorities into clear decisions, accountable ownership, and disciplined follow-through.
You will work closely with the CEO and C-suite to frame new opportunities, build and test business cases, strengthen cross-functional capabilities, and transition initiatives to long-term owners. This role operates across the full scope of the business, moving fluidly between technical, commercial, financial, and strategic conversations.
The ideal candidate brings structure to ambiguity, earns trust quickly, and creates momentum across a wide range of stakeholders — from engineers and power market experts to board members and capital markets leaders. This person will be a sharp strategic thinker, strong operator, and credible cross-functional partner who helps Rowan move faster without losing focus.
Travel: Ability to travel up to 20% within the US for site visits and cross functional meetings.
Location: Denver, CO (4-day hybrid in-office role)
Compensation: $210K - $255K (Offers Bonus)
Essential Responsibilities
Keep executive leadership focused on the highest-value decisions by structuring key forums, clarifying tradeoffs, and ensuring clear ownership, timing, and success measures
Strengthen CEO and Board decision-making by distilling complex approvals into the few variables that matter most, with clear business context and risk/reward framing
Incubate and pressure-test strategic initiatives by building business cases, aligning stakeholders, identifying no-go decisions early, and transitioning viable work to functional owners
Increase execution visibility by tracking commitments, surfacing stalled work, naming constraints clearly, and escalating issues early to keep the business moving
Shape company narrative and message discipline by creating clear, consistent communication that helps strategy and culture scale beyond the executive room
Drive first-year impact by improving execution velocity, streamlining CEO/Board and cross-functional workflows and clarifying ownership
Education, Skills, and Experience
10+ years of experience in infrastructure development, energy, project finance, or a related field, with the judgment to navigate complex business decisions
Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; advanced degree preferred
Experience working with utilities, banks, and/or hyperscale customers, with a strong understanding of how they think, operate, and make investment decisions
Ability to build, communicate, and defend a clear point of view under pressure, including when the right recommendation is "no."
