About the Role

The Field Engineer Intern supports senior staff (Project Managers and Superintendents) in coordination, scheduling, quantity surveying, reporting, and quality control functions on projects in the Montrose and Parshall area. The position involves working knowledge of core construction elements such as field management, estimating, and project management.

As a Field Engineer Intern, you will:
  • Perform various duties including administrative tasks, updating schedules and budgets, maintaining cost control, and monitoring labor, material, and equipment activities on the project.
  • Work with Project Managers and on‑site Superintendents to update project schedules and budgets to identify potential construction issues.
  • Attend all project team meetings, document meeting minutes, action items, and other project deliverables.
  • Monitor the project change management process, identify change events, submit change notices, track changes and optional scope changes, and present to the Project Manager when required.
  • Assist with drawings, drawing records, revisions, site instructions, and change orders.
  • Support the Project Manager and Superintendent in creating templates and supporting documents regarding roles and responsibilities.
  • Record change orders and update site drawings.
  • Monitor payroll functions, cost accruals, and reviews on a regular basis.
  • Maintain QA/QC and Safety records.
  • Review Field Surveillance Reports (FSR) and initiate NCRs based on analysis and severity of findings.
Qualifications & Experience
  • In progress Trade Certification or Technical Diploma/Degree in Engineering or related field experience is required.
  • 2–3 years of construction experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
  • Proficiency in scheduling and project management software.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Hourly rate: $35–$45 per hour.
