POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a driven Project Engineer with 2–3 years of commercial concrete experience to join a growing concrete subcontracting operation. This role sits at the intersection of field and office — you'll support Project Managers and Superintendents in the day‑to‑day execution of structural and site concrete projects, with exposure to tilt‑up panel construction, CIP structural work, and commercial flatwork. This is a high‑visibility role with a clear path to Project Manager for the right candidate.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Support Project Managers in pre‑construction activities including scope review, submittal preparation, and project setup
- Manage RFIs, submittals, material procurement logs, and project documentation from award through closeout
- Coordinate with Superintendents on field sequencing, material delivery scheduling, and production planning
- Assist with tilt‑up panel layout review, embed coordination, bracing design review, and crane lift planning documentation
- Track project schedules, identify potential delays, and communicate proactively with the project team
- Process subcontractor and supplier change orders; assist with owner change order preparation and backup documentation
- Maintain quality control documentation; attend OAC meetings and prepare meeting minutes
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, support the Superintendent, and develop field knowledge
- 2–3 years of experience in commercial concrete construction — subcontractor side strongly preferred
- Exposure to tilt‑up construction — panel layout, embed coordination, bracing, or erection sequencing a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred; equivalent field experience considered
- Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office; scheduling software experience (P6 or MS Project) a plus
- Strong blueprint reading skills; ability to interpret structural drawings and concrete specifications
- Organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple concurrent project deliverables
- OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 preferred
- Competitive base salary commensurate with experience
- Health, dental, and vision benefits
- 401(k) with employer match
- Clear advancement path to Project Manager
