Heavy Equipment Operator/Laborer (Geotechnical / Ground Improvement)

Based in Denver, Travel Across States
Pay Range: $23.00 – $30.00 per hour
About the RoleWe are seeking Heavy Equipment Operators and General Laborers to join a specialized contractor focused on geotechnical construction and ground improvement solutions. This team works on commercial, civil, and industrial projects, delivering complex foundation systems and earth retention solutions.
This is a hands-on role requiring a mix of equipment operation and physical labor, ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors and being part of dynamic, technical job sites.
What You'll Work On- Specialty foundation elements
- Ground improvement systems
- Earth retention systems and slope stabilization
- Structural support systems for large-scale construction projects
- Operate a variety of heavy equipment, including:
- Front-end loaders
- Dozers (including mini dozers like D3)
- Backhoes
- Skid steers
- Telehandlers
- Water trucks
- Perform excavation, trenching, and material movement
- Load/unload materials (beams, lumber, rock, etc.)
- Assist with installation of:
- Tiebacks / soil nails
- Micropiles
- Ground improvement systems
- Support crews with manual labor (approx. 50% equipment / 50% labor)
- Compact soil, move and place materials, and assist with site preparation
- Maintain equipment and follow all safety procedures
- Experience on civil, geotechnical, earthwork, or commercial construction projects
- Willingness to perform both equipment operation and physical labor
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Willingness to travel as needed for projects
- Strong work ethic and flexibility for labor-intensive tasks
- 2+ years of heavy equipment operating experience
- Experience with tieback drills / soil nailing systems
- Exposure to micropiles or concrete pumping
- Forklift and skid steer operating experience
- Experience working in highly technical or specialized construction environments
- Mix of day and occasional night work (~10%)
- Physically demanding role with varying levels of labor intensity depending on project
- Work performed on active construction sites across the region
- Travel required based on project location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Denver, CO.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
