Role Description The Junior Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Denver, CO. This role supports the estimating team by reviewing project plans and specifications, performing basic quantity takeoffs, and compiling cost estimates for gypsum underlayment and floor leveling projects. Day-to-day tasks include gathering and verifying project information, assisting with bid proposals, updating pricing and job cost data, and maintaining organized records in estimating software and spreadsheets.
The Junior Estimator collaborates closely with senior estimators, project managers, and field teams to clarify scope, confirm site conditions, and ensure estimates align with project requirements. The role also involves communicating with contractors and suppliers, tracking bid deadlines, and contributing to continuous improvement of estimating processes.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess foundational skills in construction math, blueprint reading, and basic quantity takeoffs.
- Candidates should possess skills in data entry, spreadsheet use (e.g., Excel), and estimating or project management software.
- Candidates should possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Candidates should possess effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across field and office teams.
- Candidates should possess time management and organizational skills, including the ability to handle multiple bids and deadlines.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is beneficial.
- Prior experience or internship in construction estimating, field operations, or related roles is beneficial.
- Familiarity with gypsum underlayment, floor leveling, or general concrete work is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
- Ability to work on-site in Commerce City, CO, visit job sites as needed, and adhere to safety standards.
