Job Description & How to Apply Below

Company:

Join an innovative and entrepreneurial-driven company that employees a variety of professionals, including architects, engineers, and construction professionals to address construction from a unique perspective. We adopt a collaborative approach to construction, integrating multiple critical functions within the same company. We thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and we are looking for an entrepreneurial-minded candidate to join our construction team.

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager with a strong background in residential and multi-unit projects. The ideal candidate possesses a passion for building, sharp financial acumen, and exceptional organizational skills to keep projects running seamlessly.

This role involves close collaboration with a cross-functional team, working directly with our in-house design and engineering staff as well as third-party trade partners. The position requires a leader who can confidently guide a project from initial budgeting and preconstruction through to final project closeout. You will balance professional office-based project controls with active field management, ensuring every project is executed to the highest quality standards, on time and on budget.

Typical projects range from high-end custom single-family homes to mid-size, mixed-use residential developments, centered primarily around wood-framed structures. While the core competency for this role is rooted in construction management, the ideal candidate will look to broaden their skillset by assisting with general company operations and administrative strategies.

Responsibilities:
  • Project Oversight: Manage residential construction projects from initial preconstruction and budgeting through final delivery, supervising project schedules, quality controls, and material procurement.
  • Subcontractor Coordination: Source, qualify, and manage 1099 independent contractors and trade partners, ensuring contract compliance, schedule adherence, and rigorous quality control.
  • Project Controls & Accounting: Process and maintain relevant project accounting, cost-to-complete tracking, and budget reconciliations for submittal to executive leadership, clients, and lenders (including draw coordination).
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain full compliance with local building codes, structural specifications, zoning regulations, and safety standards.
  • Stakeholder Facilitation: Act as a primary point of contact to streamline communication between clients, in-house architects/engineers, municipal inspectors, and field crews.
  • Ad Hoc Management: Support general company operations, strategic entity workflows, and various high-level management tasks as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil/Architectural Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in construction management, with a dedicated focus on residential or multi-family wood-frame projects.
  • Deep understanding of residential building codes, structural standards, and construction sequencing.
  • Strong financial literacy with proven experience managing project budgets, processing trade invoices, and coordinating with lenders.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and contract-management skills.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with modern construction management software/scheduling platforms.
  • Proven ability to run multiple job sites simultaneously under tight, self-directed deadlines.
What We Offer:
  • Competitive base salary and comprehensive benefits package.
  • Opportunities for rapid professional growth and advancement within an expanding platform.
  • Merit-based bonuses and potential to participate directly in the financial success of our projects.
  • A collaborative and entrepreneurial work environment.
  • The unique opportunity to manage diverse projects that directly shape and enhance community livability.
